refund for haircut… after being threatened!?

I have paid £50 for a pamper day and haircut after being approached by a salesman in Bath city centre. I called and booked an appointment and was very much looking forward to a nice day with a glass or 2 of wine! However, later that evening i recieved a phone call from my ex boyfriends new girlfriend of about 12 months informing me that i had booked an appointment with her (i had no idea she worked there… or in fact that she was even a hairdresser!!) but she started making threats about if i turned up for the appointment. obviously i cancelled and then went to the promotion company from who the voucher was purchased. They basically said that because she didn’t work directly for them and there was no actual problem with the voucher i was not entitled to any refund. It is a one off salon so i can’t even visit another branch and i am now living away frmo Bath all together. Any ideas as to how i can get this money back???

since the company she works for has made an agreement with the promotion company from which you purchaced the voucher to provide its services to customers who are bying credit indirectly like you have then the employee who refused to carry out her legal obligation(provide you with the service you paid for) and furthermore threatened you has acted illegally.
You should inform the management of the hairdressing company regarding the employee’s misbehaviour and request for a refund to be given to you. If they do not do so then you could threaten them with further legal action from your part not only for the financial loss but also for the verbal assault you received from their part.
